About WordWorks

WordWorks was born along with my first child in 1993. Well, basically. Like so many other new moms, motherhood was the necessity of invention – and for me, it was the right time to leave my beloved Employee Communications position at Ortho Pharmaceutical Corp. (now Janssen Pharmaceuticals) to redefine my career while fully embracing my exciting (and scary!) self-appointed 24/7 role as a new parent. Now, three decades later, my family is full – with my amazing and supportive husband of 32 years, Craig, and our three wonderful, now-adult children – and I’m proud to say that WordWorks is growing and going strong.    

Today, as a WBENC/WOSB certified woman-owned small business, WordWorks is energized by expertise, experience and insights and our dedicated team is more passionate than ever to partner with clients to achieve their organizational objectives. Communication is critical to progress and, ultimately, success. Effective communication – that is crisp, clear, compelling and inspiring – is not just good, it's game-changing. A creative, passionate, and strategic and tactical thought-leader, Susan demonstrates her commitment to communications excellence with uncompromising professionalism and integrity. She has dedicated her career to corporate communications, serving in senior leader and management roles, and as WordWorks president since 1994. 

• Awards: International Association of Business Communicators and NJ Chapter; PRSA; and Audio Visual Communicators Association. 
• Education: Cum laude graduate of Montclair State College – Bachelor of Arts degree in English 
• Affiliations: IABC; NJ Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO); Cancer Support Community Central New Jersey/Marketing Advisory Committee; IABC Foundation Committee member (2018); NJ/IABC past-president 

Personal: 

• Outside of the Office: It’s all about food and family – and I have to say, we’re a bit obsessed. There’s no denying we’re a food-focused fam that LOVES to cook and eat. For us, it comes down to getting creative in the kitchen and thoroughly enjoying every opportunity to reconnect around the table. 
• Foodie Fun Facts: Susan recently teamed up with a longtime friend to launch her just-for-fun blog: www.LivingFoodLife.com AND her husband, Craig, just published Changing The Game -- his first cookbook focused on how to transform wild game into delicious, game-changing family favorite meals. (Check it out!)
• Beyond her Culinary Adventures: Susan achieves mind/body/soul balance by indulging in her other passions: water sports, wine, reading, travel, and fitness (with a special shout-out to her workout partner of choice – Peloton – and their inspiring instructors, classes and community!). [WARNING: Engaging in these activities at the same time and/or on the same day will result in extreme joy and, in fact, is highly recommended.]
